Season of the Witch starts off spicy and smoky but as it settles notes of sandalwood, dried herbs and spices shine through. It was created to harness the dark and mysterious nature of the witch. This is an essential oil blend but we decided to use a nature identical sandalwood due to the current over harvesting issues that have arose.
I decided to finally share this story behind this scent as each thing I create has a little story behind it ...
Her pointed shoes shuffled the ashes of an extinguished balefire. Smoke curls around her hair as she walks away towards her cottage. As she strolls along the path her herb garden sighs and brushes against the hems of her skirts, saturating the air with their astringent green magic. She opens her crooked door, palms pressed against the old worn wood and is greeted by the scents of her home and hearth. Dried bundles of herbs graze her shoulders and a simmering pot of golden amber liquid gently bursts bubbles filled with the aroma of clove and nutmeg. She settles into her chair, reaching for a bundle of wood and dried flora to throw onto the fire. She sighs, everyday is the season of the witch.
